Our cloisonne and hand-painted glass ornaments are tested best sellers and proven customer favorites for over two decades. Our customers range from private schools, hotels/resorts, golf clubs, corporations, special events, etc. Kitty Keller is able to take design elements, photos, ideas, and logos and create a one-of-a-kind custom ornament design. Our skill set is taking your input and design elements and creating an ornament showcasing what makes your group special.
Cloisonné Ornaments
Each ornament starts with being hammered and formed to create the desired shape. Copper is used because it is easily hammered and stretched. The design is initially drawn on a copper ball. The copper wires are formed and shaped into the design on the ornament. After the wires are shaped, they are placed onto the copper ball and soldered. The wires create small compartments called “cloisons.”
Hand-Painted Glass Ornaments
Each ornament is hand-painted on the inside of the glass ball, a process that originated in China in the 1600s. The ornaments are made from handblown glass, creating a clear glass ornament. The artisan paints a sketch of the design, using a fine-tip brush. The complete design pattern is outlined inside the ball. The artisan then fills in the sketch with colors as indicated on the design. The last step is to fill in the solid background color.

Kitty Keller Designs ships to destinations in the USA (including Hawaii & Alaska), Canada, Ireland, Scotland, and the Bahamas. We do not offer drop shipping for our wholesale customers.
The process begins with the creation of a custom ornament design. This takes approximately 1-2 weeks. Once the design is confirmed and placed with our supplier, the production time ranges from 2-3 months for hand-painted glass and 3-5 months for cloisonne. Please note that since our ornaments are shipped internationally, these shipments may experience unpredictable delays, especially during Q3 and Q4, which are beyond our control.
Each time an ornament is ordered, the colors for that design are created for that design. The artisans match the PMS colors on the design to the color of the enamel paint. It can sometimes be a trial and error as sometimes the paint changes once the color is fired. It is not an exact science, meaning there is no specific formula for PMS 128, but an art form perfected after many years of practice.
Yes! Both custom cloisonne and hand-painted glass ornaments come in silk covered gift boxes. (sample). Our customers have come to recognize and love the boxes our ornaments come in. When they see them in stores, they immediately know they will get a quality ornament with great design.
Creating ornament designs is our expertise. We will work with you to get all the information we need to put the ornament together. The more specific you can be the better!
To get started, we provide design examples you can use as inspiration or view the designs on our website. You send us logos, images, ideas, and any inspiration. Let us know if there are any specific restrictions or requirements with your logos, colors, etc. Please make sure to let us know the most important things needed to be included in the design.

- What design elements do you wish to include in your custom design? Logo, Text, Icons, Pictures, PMS Colors, Style Guide (if available)
- Do you have design limitations OR essential features we should be aware of? Example: We can’t use our logo with Christmas-themed elements, cannot break up elements of the logo, cannot change the font of the logo, etc. Keep in mind wording on the Cloisonné ornaments are extremely limited.
- Please select 2 favorite design examples from pages 10-18 (of wholesale brochure at the top of this page) to guide our design process.
- Once we have gathered all the details, including your design preferences, logo files, and PMS colors, we will proceed with creating your ornament design.
- We will provide you with an initial first draft of the ornament design. When providing changes, please be as specific as possible. Please note that there is a limit of 2 revisions for each design.

Once you approve the design, you can place your orders for ASAP shipping with either an estimated date or a specific date. Due to the complexities of international importing, Kitty Keller Designs can’t guarantee most ship dates.
